Falkirk superkid Craig Sibbald: Alex Ferguson missed my objectives for Man U as he... - Scottish Daily Record

THE 17-year-old impressed on trial at Manchester United before maneuvering to Falkirk - this weekend he is hoping to greatly help the Bairns to Scottish Cup achievement. Craig Williamson/SNS Class FALKIRK superkid Craig Sibbald scored the goal of his dreams at Manchester United and then be informed Sir Alex Ferguson had left to confirm another thoroughbred. The Bairns midfielder hopes his area have the stamina for Scottish Cup success when they accept Hibs in the semi-final at Hampden tomorrow. Sibbald, 17, has shown he is the man for the big situation when he played a role in the surprise League Cup beat of members Rangers last period. The elegant colt also did enough to show he could become a important person in Scottish football when he impressed on trial at Manchester United with team-mate Jay Fulton last May. Sibbald said: aAlex Smith is pals with Sir Alex so he played a component in arranging it. We had to help keep it quiet. It was meant to be secret but word got out sooner or later. aThe journey was incredible and the features were unreal. It was an excellent chance to see what itas like down there and what you'll need to complete to produce it. It offers you the incentive to work hard every day in the hope that you could probably one day reach that level. aOne of the times we enjoyed in a reserve game. Jay and I were either side of Anderson in midfield, with Belgian international Richie De Laet at the rear. aI scored both goals in a 2-0 win. One of them was amongst the best Iave actually won and it flew in the most effective part a but Alex Ferguson missed it. Somebody explained he was away buying a horse but I donat know if thatas right or not. aOur coach Stevie Crawford still has the purpose on video therefore probably Iall deliver it to him. aMy other memory was that Jay was the only person there wearing colored shoes. He'd a maroon pair but didnat understand that at United everyone beyond your first group wears black people. Which was funny.a Sibbaldas own dimension nines are planted firmly on the floor and while he could have now been rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in baseball at Old Trafford, his apprenticeship remains at Falkirkas foundation at the University of Stirling. He added: aIave still got to released the mannequins for set-pieces and cones every day. My responsibilities change on a monthly basis. Iave had to go the objectives and look after the balls and most of the young boys help out. aLast year I did the shoes although not anymore, so thatas a step up of sorts.a Sibbald was only 16 when he made his debut for the most effective staff against Brechin in the Challenge Cup in July 2011. He went on to perform 35 times in his debut year but worrying accidents have restricted him to 21 appearances now, though he scored his first goal of the plan in the 4-0 defeat of Cowdenbeath at the weekend. He said: aIave been working hard to get back once again to fitness because I havenat had as good a run this year as I did last season due to hip and foot injuries. aIave played 90 minutes in my last two games and won so ideally that stands me in good stead. aEveryone says the next time in the initial group is always harder. I'd a busy first year however the second time has taken a little of time and energy to progress. aLast year there was talk of other clubs taking a look at me but Alex Smith and Steven Pressley made sure I kept my feet on a lawn. aSir Alex told us when we left Manchester United to keep working hard and that the most important point was to be playing first group games. aIt has been annoying recently but ideally itas behind me and I could have an excellent end to the season.a Sibbald has performed at Hampden before, as a sub last season when Falkirk took place 3-1 to Celtic in the semi-final of the League Cup. He added: aThe atmosphere was amazing. The Falkirk fans arrived on the scene in figures and it gave me a taste for it. aYou never know if it'll be your last time at Hampden so Iam decided to complete my most useful if picked against Hibs. aPeople is going to be seeing and you need to execute at your best to catch the attention. Itas great having these activities to exhibit off your skills.a
