Jamie McMurray gained the NASCAR Sprint Series on Saturday evening from Charlotte Motor Speedway inside Concord, North Carolina. McMurray, and runner-up Ricky Stenhouse Jr., clinched a spot inside forthcoming All-Star Race.
For the surprise of few, Danica Tanker, who finished ninth, won the fan vote to achieve the 22nd and final see, per NASCAR on ESPN:
No points were threatened in this precursor on the All-Star Race, but it didn't diminish the excitement or the worthiness for McMurray, as announced by NASCAR Stats at Twitter:
McMurray finished the first of two segments of 20 laps looking at pole-sitter Martin Truex Jr .. by approximately nine-tenths to a second, and he do not ever relinquished his lead. The wire-to-wire victory gotten McMurray a well-deserved spot in the marquee showcase set to happen later on Saturday.

Casey Mears boldly thought to stay out on the track to help get a leg on the competition. USA Today's Jeff Gluck wondered if that had been the soundest strategy:
Unfortunately, things didn't quite work out for Mears. He couldn't improve at his career-best sixth-place finish within the Sprint Showdown and wound up in 10th.
After this, Mears and McMurray decided on pit lane to get all tires changed, and McMurray's halt was particularly effective, as his team enhanced the control he previously on his car in a matter of just six seconds.
Juan Pablo Montoya, some sort of Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing teammate from McMurray's, was penalized being subtracted from the pits, as your team's official Twitter article documented:
Though he jumped the gun somewhat in that instance, his crew gave him a very good set of adjustment, and he ran up to sixth position in the end.
Truex bumped the wall while struggling with third-place finisher Jeff Burton with 12 laps going. That made an indent in Truex's car and caused him in order to complete in fifth in the end—just beyond the borders of automatic qualification for the All-Star Race.
Patrick obviously didn't qualify, and a reaction to her selection has recently been polarizing. On one unfavorable end is Shawn Courchesne involving RaceDayCT. com:
It tends to make some sense, since Patrick has merely one Top-10 finish and sits 26th inside Sprint Cup points standings. However, her marketability and appeal are undeniable, and the girl with popular with the fanatics.
She will gladly take the spot, and upon hearing what is the news, Patrick was fired all the way up, according to Claire P. Lang of NASCAR Sirius XM Broadcast:
The 40-lap thrill drive lent itself to all-out, aggressive styles rarely seen from several stock car racing's highly regarded drivers in regular events. That didn't deter McMurray with dominating and putting him self in ideal position to ensure against the tougher niche he'll face next.
