What Can Ryan Nassib Learn from Eli Manning in 2013?

Eli Manning knows the New York Giants might have secured his eventual successor when they took Syracuse quarterback Ryan Nassib in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Luckily for Nassib, Manning appears comfortable teaching the young quarterback everything he needs to know about winning as the starting quarterback of the Giants.

According to the New York Daily News' Stephen Lorenzo and Ralph Vacchiano, Manning called Nassib shortly after the Giants picked the young signal-caller and offered his help:

(I told him) 'Anything you need before you get here in May, let me know. Looking forward to working and getting to know you. We get after it in the quarterback room. We work hard. We have great meetings. Looking forward to having you involved in this.'

The NFL is a tough business both on and off the field, especially at the game's most important position. The great quarterbacks in the league are not only physically gifted—like Nassib—but also mentally prepared for any situation thrown at them.

Such preparation comes from tireless work in meetings and film rooms, and is quite possibly the biggest hurdle for young quarterbacks to master.

A quarterback needs to know the playbook inside and out, but also how to run through his progressions in an instant, make pre-snap reads of exotic defensive coverages and shift protections to keep 270-pound pass-rushers out of his pocket.

These requirements force the NFL to throw a lot of information at young players in a short amount of time. It can overwhelm and swallow still-adjusting players who can't handle it.

Even as a backup quarterback, Nassib's every move is going to be under the microscope in the Big Apple (just ask that Tebow guy). The same goes for Manning, yet he's kept a mostly clean reputation because he knows how to handle the spotlight. Eventually, if Nassib wants to be a starting quarterback in New York, he'll have to be able to do the same.

But above all, Manning can provide championship insight to a young quarterback. Manning has won two Super Bowls and there's very little he hasn't seen or dealt with during his time in New York. He knows how to win and play big in the most important moments.

Nassib should be able to pick Manning's brain for any bit of help he needs as he transitions from the Big East to the NFC East.

Manning is still an elite quarterback, and at just 32 years old, he should have several good years left in the tank.

Drafting Nassib was a smart long-term decision, for no other reason than it gives the Giants a malleable quarterback with obvious physical skills behind Manning.

However, Manning can also provide a learning platform for down the road when Nassib is ready to challenge for his playing time. That day will eventually come and Manning didn't shy away from that fact.

In Which Legendary Baseball Pitchers And Legendary Rock Bands Are Finally Compared

In Wednesday's Scratching the Surface column, I looked at pitchers who are considered fifth starters for their teams and asked if they were going to make it, or if they would fake it. So I labeled each one either a "Bon Jovi" or a "Milli Vanilli." The Milli Vanilli was obvious, but my choice of Bon Jovi was questioned on Twitter.

My friend @RSanders85 tweeted: "Couldn't have picked band better than Bon Jovi? To me, Bon Jovi would be someone good but gets annoying to watch after a while."

To be clear: When talking about a guy like Mike Leake (one of the pitchers we examined), we know he's not going to become The Who; Bon Jovi seems like a good ceiling. I was really asking "Can they be a number three starter, or will they return to long relief/Triple-A?" The idea was popular: @seamus_carr tweeted "(carlos) villanueva…jovi or vanilli?" (He's a Bon Jovi by the way)

So while Bon Jovi fit my criteria – and contained good cadence and alliteration with Milli Vanilli – I'll admit there are better examples of "legit artist" out there. But I will need your help.

Okay, my intention was to essentially label Bon Jovi as a third starter type. They weren't ever great: solid, fun, always gave you all they had, but they were known more for their hair than for their talent. But, let's face it, Springsteen they're not. So in order to find our next Bon Jovi, we need to put the all-time bands into a pitching rotation.

These are all-time greats. Unmatched. Legendary. Never ever should they be uttered in the same sentence as Milli Vanilli. That being said, these are not necessarily MY all-time favorite bands, but undoubtedly belong at the top of rotations – I never liked Roger Clemens either but I won't deny his greatness. So here are several Number Ones, and their corresponding Major League great:

*Denotes you may not like them, but I believe they are pure genius. So deal. ^Denotes that The King, Scott Engel, is obsessed with Kiss, and he is, well, The King, so they are a #1 starter. ^^Denotes Tim McCullough thinks they are a #1 starter, and he edits my columns, so welcome to the top of the rotation.

Before you say anything about the Stones, you should know that I believe "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Paint It, Black" are the musical equivalents of a perfect game. The Doors might be too high for your tastes, but I put a lot of stock in a band's importance/significance for the period in which they existed. Every member of The Doors had more talent in their fingernail clippings than any member of Smash Mouth has in their entire family. That said, I love the song "All Star."

Eckersley, I realize, garnered much of his fame in the bullpen, though, he was a pretty good starter. I matched him up with Kiss for two reasons: His hair/facial hair and (let's face it) neither one belongs on the Number One Starter list.

I put U2 up here because of their staying power, their true greatness, and that they (and their lyrics) actually matter. Songs like "Where the Streets Have No Name" are important and much needed in this world. But I will never compare the "Achtung Baby" phase of the band to Smoltz's time spent in the bullpen. Zooropa, I admit, should knock U2 down to second starter status. For years they seemed to just put the guitars away – that would be like Dwight Gooden not throwing his curveball. (Instead he ingested Colombia.) To me, if Roberto Clemente was a starter, he'd be the perfect match. Mesmerizing talent, good heart. Number One.

I realize Janis Joplin should not be Number One starter, based on what we call in the trade "a small sample size" but the comparison to Koufax was too perfect – they both were the best at what they did for entirely too short a time period, and they did things that nobody else would dream of doing. I hope that I'm the first person in the history of the world who ever paired them together in a sentence.

These are great artists in their own right, but just don't rise to the elite level. Sure, you'd be confident if they started game two in a post-season series, even game one. But perhaps their career was cut short, or their Hall of Fame status or career was affected by drugs. They are still way better than Bon Jovi, so they cannot replace them in our "Jovi/Vanilli" game.

^Denotes they are pretty good, but according to their fans they are not only the best but the only talent in the world.

First, a word (or 200) on The Eagles: I really wanted to make them a Number One. But their lack of team chemistry and longevity is obviously a factor, as is, well "The Geeks Don't Want No Freaks." I will say this: The Don Henley/Glenn Frey/Joe Walsh threesome can stand up against any rock trio, in my book. (Although I admit, Glenn Frey is a touch overrated. I mean "The Heat is On" – really?) Hotel California is another musical perfect game. And much like Don Larson's perfect game in the World Series, we're all a bit tired of hearing about it and it's made us weary.

Similarly CCR is better than half of the Number Ones, but we needed to see more. Orel Hershiser was as good as any pitcher, ever. At least for a little while. A little while gets you a Number Two. It almost kept Queen off the top list as well.

The Grateful Dead are…..fine. Not my thing. Neither is a knuckleball. Grateful Dead, meet Phil Niekro. May you both excite one another. You do nothing for me, personally. They were high. You were cheating. Sure there's greatness in there somewhere, but it doesn't count for 100 percent.

Okay, this is the meat of our discussion. These are the Bon Jovis of baseball. When we ask if a pitcher is faking it or making it, these guys are "making it" even if it's just for a couple of good seasons. Mike Leake is not going to the Hall of Fame, but neither is Mark Fidrych. But you can't deny his talent and the success he did enjoy. It's not like he was (insert failed Mets pitching prospect comparison here. I would personally choose Paul Wilson)….

This list has some of the best names in the game right now (Strasburg, Harvey, Verlander)….They aren't (historical) number two starters just yet, but clearly have that potential. They are the Guns 'N Roses of the game right now. They're clearly as talented as the names above them, but not worthy just yet.

*Denotes author doesn't care about the band, but thinks Schilling is a tool ^Denotes nobody really ever gets worked up about them (at least while sober) but will tell you they're the best ever after a couple of drinks.

Pettitte as Fleetwood Mac might surprise you. While the band had way more personality than the southpaw, Pettitte was like Mac in that he had a blind devotion/attraction to his bandmate Clemens (like every member of Fleetwood Mac had with each other), following him around like a lost puppy. And, truthfully, we don't know what effect drugs had on his career, although, we like him, a lot.

My friend Dave Lopez has a simple theory. If I can easily imitate the lead singer of a band (and sound at least 85 percent as good), that band sucks. And so I present to you: Journey. For some reason every middle school boy discovers Journey as their entrée to rock 'n roll; they simply never drop their allegiance due to sentimentality. If Journey was a movie, it would be Top Gun. We LOVE Top Gun, but as a movie, it is dumpster material. It just made us feel good so we will forever love it. And all that reminds me of Kevin Appier.

John Cougar/Mellancamp/Cougar-Mellancamp/Just Call me John was matched with Jered Weaver simply because Weaver plays for the Anaheim Angels/California Angels/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim of the Almighty. You might truly be one of the best at your game, but that crap with your name has to stop. Seriously.

Green Day – to me – is a #2 starter; I think they are the most important band of this generation (counting U2 as a half-generation behind them) and American Idiot is as good an album as has been produced since MTV ruined albums. But I bow to conventional wisdom. Many will make them a #5 starter, but that opinion is probably based on the fact that the voter supported Mitt Romney anyway.

Verlander will be a #2 starter anytime now. But I matched him with Dire Straits because they are both downright great, but we need more years before we immortalize them. At least Verlander will get that chance.

I hate Steely Dan. My brother once noted that they were the first band to be formed in an elevator. They are very talented and probably underrated, and much like Trachsel, who is all of those things too. But the God's honest truth is they are just brutal to sit through. I mean has anyone ever listened to an entire Steely Dan album in one sitting? I watched Trachsel pitch often at Shea Stadium and pretended I had to go to the bathroom because reading the advertisement over the urinal was more stimulating. You would have to use Pretzel Logic to Steely Dan any higher on this list. (Did I mention that it's my list?)

Everyone's heard of these guys. They know their songs, even if there are just a handful of career hits. This is the group of artists who refuse to go away. Like Kenny Powers, they just keep playing. They show up at summer festivals every year (think Beach Boys). You once owned their album – on cassette tape. They are often named for a city/town/continent. The talent is there, no doubt, but you wouldn't buy a ticket to go see them perform (okay, except Dave Matthews. I get it, now shut up).

*Denotes that they are actually very good, but history tends to forget them ^I know, they are awesome live and you saw the hottest 5 girls ever at their show. But they're just….eh. ^^They're both Australian, get it? **Denotes I think Daughtry is junk, but the beautiful Rachel, love of my life, insisted he was at least a fourth starter. So he's a fourth starter.

Prince is a #1-2 talent, but only when you consider songwriting/producing for other artists. It's like making Tommy Lasorda a top-of-the-rotation guy because he was a successful manager (to me, Lasorda is more of a mascot to the Dodgers, like Joe Namath is to the Jets, but I digress). Hornsby is the same way – the group had one great album and you went to see them that one summer at the outdoor festival – they opened for Don Henley, remember? Yeah, and that was all she wrote.

Sinead O'Connor and Alannis Morrissette were truly great for at least one album. I was in college. Their female rage was so strong and powerful, it even affected me. You're lucky I didn't add Melissa Etheridge, so count your blessings.

These are notable "talents" but often tedious (see Dan, Steely) to endure, or to hear your college roommate tell you of their hidden genius. I mean can we really take a band called Los Lobos seriously? These acts don't even perform anymore – they go straight for the GEICO commercial. And while you might enjoy hearing one of their songs on the radio, it's not going to make you jump to iTunes and download it, or an entire album. The chances are just as good that when one of their songs comes on the radio, you decide you need to listen to more NPR because it makes you feel smarter.

^Denotes there was once an Adam Eaton who pitched. If you did not know this, you probably left this column a long time ago anyway

Paul McCartney without John Lennon is like Costello without Abbott (wait, Abbott is the fat one, right?). Yes, I know about "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "Live and Let Die" (both of which are overrated), but even Rey Ordonez hit 12 career home runs. McCartney (again in my brother's words) is a lying, cheating, thieving weasel. Beatles songs should forever by "Lennon/McCartney" not "McCartney/Lennon" you selfish bastard. And we keep making fun of you for looking like Angela Lansbury because you actually look like Angela Lansbury. It's not like we say Katy Perry looks like Wilford Brimley because she doesn't. Okay, I feel better now.

We all know Simple Minds because of The Breakfast Club. And we all know Tommy John because of the surgery. I thought there was nice symmetry there.

I actually like Coldplay but I can't figure out why. So I'll assume they are cheating to win my affection, much like Mike Scott when he was with the Astros. Mike Scott actually should have been paired with McCartney – cheating, thieving weasel.

Michael Smith Better late than never #HisHers "@HendyLuke: michaelsmith I have no clue how I managed to live this long without your podcast. #obsessed"

Possible reason(s) Djokovic vs Nadal rivalry may be over - on ANY surface - already.

With the decision STILL standing on surfaces not called red since Nadal is yet to beat Djokovic there after being spanked seven straight times, we can safely focus on clay and clay ONLY.

The fact that Nadal was eliminated in straight sets in the finals on his first encounter with Djokovic ON CLAY after having had significant success on his return from the injury break, clearly points to Nadal NOT being at even close to par with Djokovic's form - forget about passing him. Add ALL the carrots that were at stake - from 9th straight Monte Carlo title to validation of his success at previous four events to Roland Garros implications to........... and you can safely assume the outcome be the most authentic one to accurately gauge the meter.

I mean, this wasn't some bad day at the day care center or some windy conditions or some stop and start play for weather or some massively out of skin play from one end or whatever. It was the MOST legitimate and trustworthy barometer of where the two stand vis a vis each other. AND it wasn't even close.

In the second set, Nadal was as close to being the dominating self he has EVER been ANYWHERE - maybe out of sheer and stark necessity - but even that wasn't enough. To assume that Nadal can pass that in weeks to come - over three sets, forget five - is asking Nadal to pass heights he reached BEFORE the injury hiatus. For rock people, Nadal produced the MOST scintillating show right before he went down for seven months.

That without even inserting the fact that Djokovic may have matured even more and may have already overshot the threshold Nadal can summon even on his best day now.

If above BS is true - that Nadal was close to his best he has ever been on clay in that second set and Djokvoic may have handily passed Nadal's best - the rivalry may have already witnessed the last chapter. Nadal may still reach the final but he is NOT winning against Djokovic anymore AND thus the word 'rival' automatically gets released from the equation called rivalry. You have to win to make it a rivalry.

ONLY scenario that may still offer some hope for Nadal could be the unforeseeable possibility that Nadal HAS that added gear in his psyche and elsewhere to soar one more time and reverse the slide like he did against Federer, Blake, Tsonga and even Djokovic on clay last season. However, with added mileage, knee with a second (3rd?) hit, age No. 27, no grandfathers left etc. the disparity of the time he achieved all that last time and today seems unbridgeable.

Besides, the LONE weapon Nadal has SOLELY relied on to overcome his past tormentors has been rendered useless - if not turned into a huge advantage for Djokovic - against Djokovic. That means he has to find a new weapon - in weeks - to compensate. NOT FREAKING HAPPENING. That loopy inviting ball to Djokovic's backhand was the cause of MAJOR damage @ Monte Carlo. Did you notice how many points he won on that shot alone? Maybe 70% of them.

All that without even factoring in Djokovic superior over-all game compared to Blake, Tsonga and even Federer if you insert the backhand BS.

Michigan Football: Ex-Wolverines Standout Andre Weathers Shells Spring Game

Andre Weathers was floored during the Michigan Wolverinesa 1995 spring sport. A lesser-known Wolverines working back, Chris Floyd exploded for a sonic boom-like scamper that was beyond words. aHis first bring he went 70 yards,a said Weathers, an All-Big Ten Wolverines place in 1998 and member of their 1997 national title team. aHe bust through the center and ran 70 yards. I was like, aWow, hereas a guy thatas 240 pounds outrunning everybody.aa It was Floydas first effect of the competition, and he went on to have an outstanding day and respectable drop behind team rushing leader Tim Biakabutukaas 1,818-yard time. Michiganas annual spring get together is amore than an exhibition,a says Weathers. Far from a glorified practice, the springas Maize vs. Blue classic is a showcase. aYou see flashes of these young folks, and youare like, aWow, that has been a guy who performed,aa claimed Weathers, who enjoys obtaining a glimpse of the up-and-coming participants of tomorrow. aNobody knew about a Floyda'nobody knew about Chris Howard. (The spring game) gives you good a cure for the future.a But thereas a bit more to everything. Some college basketball readers believe that spring games are trumped-up techniques and not required. Unnecessary? The game is important to participant progress, both athletically and emotionally. Seasons views the spring as an aexciting and scarya opportunity to self-evaluate, afaze out large crowds,a over come anxiety and build confidence. aI was a freshmana'my first sport was my sophomore year after my (neck) surgery,a he said. aIt was my first-time playing at The Big House apart from working out on the area (on Saturdays). In the spring game, you put yourself in those situations that you have to extend the injury that you have to its limits. The spring game is a superb time and energy to get it done. You will find out what the intellectual part of the damage is. If you find yourself playing around the particular level you were before, youare ready to go. It takes you about six months to actually get over the harm, but it will take up to a year to get over it mentally.a Seasons on Development Delonte Howell and Courtney Avery is seen in this video making stops and deflecting travels. Other members of the second also had powerful shifts. Newcomers Dymonte Thomas and Ross Douglas played well enough Saturday to be thought to be genuine contributors to the Wolverines store of defensive backs this fall. Viewing freshmen have early success is critical. aItas always great whenever you have young men that are really buildinga'the corners are young, however they have a year of group participation under their belt,a Weathers said. aYou have veterans returning and adding power. Thereas lots of upsidea'the second has years under their belt and they have talented young guys." Spring Ignites Linebacker Jake Ryan is likely to be missed to no end this fall. He's on his method to national fame as a result of his massive drop of 2012, but he sits sidelined as a result of an injury in spring practice. Nevertheless, Michigan has deptha'as the spring sport proveda'that can help even out the Ryan tip. aFrom a playeras stay position, I view it as an opportunity,a Weathers said. aYouare likely to involve some folks step-up. Youare likely to learn that there are more people that nobody knows about. Everybody else discusses (Jake) Ryan, but I believe youare planning to see large things from (Cam) Gordon.a The 6a3a, 233-pound junior is the chief for the "Sam" situation. Pros Outweigh Disadvantages Sure, spring activities enhance the danger of damage, but people could overlook more good than bad by perhaps not participating. Procedures are a very important factor. The atmosphere shipped through spring sport participation teaches classes. Itas also an occasion to check the container. aItas true key in the entire great scheme of things,a Weathers said. aYou reach see where youare at; itas a big booster. Deteriorating Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay's Ultimate Draft Projections for Fins

The NFL draft has exploded to enjoy unfathomable quantities of media coverage over the past decade . Numerous shops give draft coverage, and there are even people whose main careers are to pore over, research and examine an event that lasts three days, annually. Two of the most famous draft authorities around are Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay. These draft gurus have already been giving fake drafts and analysis for decades. Say what you want about their accuracy, because seriously trying to imagine only one round of the NFL draft is similar to determining the weather outlook for weekly. Kiper and McShay are trusted however. But perhaps the absolute most trusted had difficulty with 2013's class. Apparently without elite talent yet filled with very good people, this year's class has been one of the most complicated to determine. The Miami Dolphins find themselves within an interesting place. Sitting at 12, the majority of the best people at positions of need (unpleasant tackle, spot) will soon be gone. Meanwhile, all of the next-best people look like reaches at 12. What's a group to complete? Rumors have swirled that the Dolphins are seeking to both trade up and down, neither which mightn't be a bad idea. But those movements are beyond Kiper and McShay's relative scopes. For their latest mock of Round 1, they just decided who each team would get if they stayed put. Let's break up each analyst's choice for the Dolphins. Mel Kiper Jr's Pick: D.J. Fluker, OT, Alabama The trio of top-flight fights is obviously Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Lane Johnson. Accepting the Dolphins do not hop on a trade for Brandon Albert, they'll need certainly to write a handle. The three best fights are ostensibly fully guaranteed to be gone prior to the first 10 teams are through picking. That leaves D.J. Fluker, who despite having flown significantly beneath the radar, remains undoubtedly the fourth-best tackle probability. He's a monster of a person at right tackle, measuring around 6'4" and 339 pounds. His beastly figure allows him to take over in the running game and open large lanes. Built with long arms, Fluker is excellent at taking a stand and controlling defenders. He also offers great quickness for his size, meaning defensive ends have to be very quickly off the click to flummox Fluker. It can be a secure pick, but it fills a need. General, I will back this collection. My only problem with Fluker is his size. Could the lumbering titan adjust to the zone-blocking program the Dolphins want to apply? It is a program that usually requires a slightly smaller, more athletic tackle. Fluker could possibly fill that role, but it isn't any guarantee. That concern aside, I prefer Fluker at 12. It permits Miami to fill a need with a good person without quitting any choices to move in to the top ten. Todd McShay's Pick: Chance Warmack, OG, Al McShay also considers the Dolphins going lineman at No. 12, while this 1 is a little surprising to me. Warmack is generally considered to be the most effective guard in the draft, with only North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper coming close. Warmack supplies a lethal mix of strength, size and speed on the offensive line. He is 6'2" and 317 pounds, a big body in the interior. He has a powerful original punch and may anchor well against bull-rushers. Warmack may also pull successfully and is also fast enough to get downfield and block linebackers and corners. The Dolphins do not seem to have an instantaneous need at guard, but considering Ireland's trend for drafting linemen early on, it would not come the maximum amount of surprise if Miami snagged Warmack. Certainly, if he falls to 12, many would consider the Dolphins crazy for perhaps not getting him. Just like the Fluker pick, I would be OK with this variety. While guard is not an extreme need, Warmack might an All-Pro inside a handful of months increase the line quickly and likely. However, equally Kiper's and McShay's choices suppose the Dolphins remain at 12. I am good with either of these picks, if that's the situation, then sure. But when we are taking into account the Dolphins' possibility to move on Thursday evening, these techniques suddenly don't look nearly as good in my experience. Frankly, I expect the Dolphins to utilize their variety of recommendations to shake up the draft order. However, I am still not obsessed about Miami trading up. I actually do nothing like Lane Johnson enough to justify probably stopping a or third-round pick. Specially perhaps not once they could easily get a practical right tackle in the middle times effortlessly. I'd prefer to see the Dolphins go back to the initial round and either address the secondary (Desmond Trufant, Jamar Taylor) or give Notre Dame's Tyler Eifert a turn to put yet another system for Ryan Tannehill. Eifert may also include permanence if Dustin Keller doesn't workout beyond 2013. No matter the method that you slice it, this really is shaping around be among the most exciting drafts for the Miami Dolphins in quite a while. With therefore several choices available, I personally can not wait until Thursday evening to see what goes on.

Shane Long in record-breaking mood after major win for West Bromwich - The Guardian

West Bromwich Albion's Shane Long is hoping for a record-breaking end to what is a fine time after this victory saw the membership set accurate documentation for Premier League matches gained (14) and details obtained (48). Should they finish ninth or above as that would represent their utmost finish in the Premier League period Things could easily get better yet. They sit easily in eighth with four matches outstanding and Long expectations Saturday's gain a' where three people were sent off a' may be the catalyst for a solid end to the plan. "I felt like we've been playing well over the past handful of weeks," the Ireland global said. "Maybe we were only a little slow from the blocks and as a result of that we got caught before. I think the only real really poor performance was the initial half a week ago against Newcastle. "We kept our very own until that and things only didn't get our way. We started off well and put ourselves in a great place to have a great season. I believe the director and players have earned it so hopefully we could quit on going back four games and get right up there." Southampton were unbeaten in six matches going into this sport, where they were outplayed from the beginning. Marc-Antoine FortunA opened the scoring after six minutes, with second-half moves from Romelu Lukaku and Long securing the three items. "We came here with a game title plan," Long said. "Sometimes it doesn't go properly to approach but at Southampton it did. We had a really targeting team out and we caused them all sorts of issues at the back." Despite a fine West Brom performance, all the talk following the game was about the referee Robert Madley, who had a top-flight introduction to remember. He sent off the Saints left-back Danny Fox for a lunge after earlier featuring red cards to Gaston RamArez and FortunA. RamArez received his marching orders for elbowing Long in the face a' a thing that led FortunA to raise his arms to the Uruguayan in frustration. "I got a knee to the face," Long said. "I do not know if it was planned or not but he caught me straight on the chin. I believe the ref got an excellent view of it and I was on the floor so I didn't get yourself a view of the next one." The Southampton chief Adam Lallana unveiled RamArez and Fox had apologised with their team-mates in the dressing room. Lallana was also in apologetic mood after what was Saints' worst performance of 2013. "It was some of those days but you can't just blame that," he said. "We didn't play in addition to we have been playing at home. We did not play high up the message, we did not press well enough, we didn't go well enough. Every one of these factors combined in this poor performance. Individually we were all off the rate. That showed in the efficiency and the result."

NFL Rumors: Latest on Tim Tebow and More Players with Potential to Be Moved

Quarterbacks have already been switching teams this offseason at a rate that makes it hard to keep track, and that trend hasn't come to an end yet.

The only thing surprising about this is that Tim Tebow is still on the Jets. It became painfully obvious last season as Tebow rode the pine in New York while the Jets suffered through some abysmal quarterback play, that Jets coach Rex Ryan was not a big believer in Tebow's ability to handle the quarterbacking duties.

Yet here we are, with the majority of free agency and the NFL draft in the past, and Tebow is still on the Jets. So, maybe they will give him a shot after all?

It is still a possibility I suppose, but with the draft gone and free agency having mostly run its course, if it doesn't happen soon, the Jets are just going to have to cut him loose.

At that point, Tebow's future home is up in the air, and he may have a hard time finding any team, as all roster spots are filling up.

He isn't going to take Tom Brady's job, and while he provides the Patriots with a talented backup, let's face it: If Tom Brady is lost for any significant period of time, the Patriots will be planning for next season anyway.

This makes the strong-armed Mallett a popular topic in trade discussions, and there have apparently been discussions.

Boston.com's Greg A. Bedard reports,"according to three league sources," that "multiple teams" have called the Pats about Mallett.

However, the Patriots aren't just going to give Mallett away; a team is going to have to make it worth their while. Bedard reports the Patriots, prior to this draft, were looking for a "second this season or a first in '14."

The Patriots didn't take a quarterback in this draft, which will make them a little more reluctant to part with Mallett, as they'd have a hard time landing a backup.

Speculation about Nick Foles finding a new team became relevant the moment the Eagles hired Chip Kelly as their head coach.

NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal paints a picture in Philadelphia that leads him to the logical conclusion that quarterback Foles could be finding a new landing spot.

With the selection of USC quarterback Matt Barkley in the fourth round, the Eagles now have five quarterbacks on the roster.

Someone has to go. It's not going to be Michael Vick, who is the logical choice for starter, and I can't imagine Kelly taking Barkley if he had any thought he might cut him.

Kinne isn't going to make it. And while Foles obviously has way more potential than the journeyman Dixon, Dixon knows Kelly's system from their time at Oregon.

Dixon is also a nice option for third quarterback as he could come in, if Vick were to get injured during a game, and allow the Eagles to keep their same game plan.

Jordan Reed Scouting Report: NFL Prospect for Texas TE

Jordan Reed's introduction since the top pass-catcher for the Florida Gators has found the eyes of several. A former choice quarterback, he displays an excellent quantity of athleticism with the ball in his hands. He'll probably never be considered a true on-the-line tight end in theANFL, but his knowledge and capacity removing from the formation and in space must prove extremely important for just about any team ready to use him creatively. General Talents + Dangerous with the ball in his arms + Frame to carry more weight + Power to split out as a recipient Overall Weaknesses - Lacks power and size - Technique and work as a blocker need improvement - Lack of height might restrict red-zone production and inline ability Draft Projection Next morning Most useful Group Suits KC, JAX, SD, CAR, GB, HOU, ATL Instruments ( - ) Level Fat Arm Size 40 Time 6a2a 236 pounds 33a 4.72 Reed is wide-hipped but relatively lacks lots of muscle and explanation in his limbs, suggesting he could continue to add size and power without losing any speed or speed (Iad really claim thereas a strong chance for him adding much more explosiveness to his sport as he gets stronger). As of today however, Reed is both undersized and not particularly volatile. His athleticism after the ability and catch to detach from the development and as a broad receiver line up will probably draw many comparisons to his Gator tight end precursor, Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez, but, was an exceptional player at a bigger size. Reed's size, part and uniform will cause many to draw comparisons to Aaron HernandezSam Greenwood/Getty Images Process An option quarterback in senior school, Reed split time passed between quarterback and small end inAUrban Meyeras spread option program this year. After Meyer left in 2011 and Will Muschamp was appointed as head coach, his permanent home was found by Reed as a aJokera tight end. Heall make at the traditional small end position, as a wingback, a slot receiver or external receiver. Character/Intangibles No known arrests or suspensions. Launch ( + ) Florida liked splitting Reed out as a radio, and he will likely do the exact same early in his NFL career. Since itas impossible that Reed will be playing much inline tight end, an NFL team will be able to move him around creatively to obtain him matched up on smaller defenders who wonat hold him up at the line of scrimmage. When split up out, the agility have been shown by him to provide stutter-steps off the line, pushing the defensive back once again to go his hips and open the door. Tracks Due to the limitations of his quarterbacks during the last two periods, Reed hasn't been afforded the opportunity to operate three to a particularly varied way. He does the majority of his damage on superficial crosses, stick routes and place routes. Where he is able to use his running skills to pick up yards in space, California also likes to get him the ball on screen passes. Hands/Ball Skills ( + ) Reed fighting through a jam at the line of scrimmage and through the quarterback's struggle. Reed shows outstanding human anatomy get a grip on in the air. He's shown the ability to contort his body and make hard grabs while contesting defensive shells at the capture position. Great sideline awareness is also displayed by him, constantly showing that he will come down with his feet in bounds. He makes an effort to adjust to badly cast balls, catch with his fingers extended far from his body and does an excellent job overall of perhaps not letting the ball enter his chest. Working along the border in space and he is much more hostile opting for the ball when detached from the formation. Reed goes up in the air to make a competitive hook. Run After Catch ( + ) Acrobatic and agile after the catch, Reedas background being an alternative quarterback really shines when heas able to obtain the ball in place. He features outstanding stop/start capacity and the vision to function with waste on displays. He isnat quite as explosive as Hernandez was taken from Florida, but Reed continues to be a very good athlete and is hazardous with the ball in his hands. Reed has a bad habit of not getting the ball into his human anatomy while running in the wild field, highlighted by his most famous play of the seasona'fumbling while bouncing for a go-ahead score against Georgia. Preventing ( - ) Reed shows off his YAC skills, while eluding defenders following a two-yard smooth pass picking right up a big chunk of yardage. The strength is lacked by reed to sustain blocks and his effort is mediocre against front-seven people. He puts his head down, runs, prevents his feet and doesnat roll his hips through contact when one-on-one. Nevertheless, he'll drive his legs and provide good energy when his combination gets action on a double-team. He will mix it up with defensive shells when split out as a broad receiver, and he makes crucial blocks down the area usually on big run plays. As a, he plays with too wide of a base and overextends himself, rendering it hard to recuperate against pass-rushers who set him up. He's also susceptible to playing also high and finding bull-rushed in both cross and run game. Future Role/Versatility As he continues to get stronger and add more muscle Reed is going to be a part-time contributor in his first year or two. Nevertheless, his athleticism, baseball skills and experience filling up and detaching from the development as a wide receiver will make him a stimulating game item and will give him a position to ease in to until he becomes a full-time player. Heas nearly Aaron Hernandez, but theyare virtually identical people.

New Job Suggestions for NFL Players Out of Work

Terrance Ganaway might not be out of a job in the NFL, but the young running back from Baylor has decided that it makes more sense to get a job as a "sandwich artist" during the offseason than risk finding himself in trouble.

Talking to Jim Thomas of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the former sixth-round pick of the New York Jets and current member of the Rams, had the following to say:

"I'm on the line that makes the sandwiches. ... I bake bread. Take the cashier spot. I had to sweep the other day. Clean the tables. I mean, all types of stuff. Slice the meat. Wrap the meat."

Ganaway, who took a part-time job at Jimmy John's in Waco, isn't hard up for money or anything. Instead, he decided his "off time" could be better utilized than what we have seen with some players around the National Football League.

Not all NFL players are willing to, or have to, make a decision like this. Though, I thought it would be somewhat funny to take a lighthearted look at what currently unemployed NFL players might be best suited for if they had to change professions.

I am surprised that not one single player on the Detroit Lions has been arrested since the end of the Super Bowl early last month. What are they waiting for?

After all, there were a total of seven arrests among Lions players last offseason, anything ranging from a firearm charge to marijuana possession (via Yahoo! Sports)

Enter into the equation good ol' boy Shaun Hill, who has done everything right off the field since coming into the league as an undrafted free agent back in 2005. The current free agent, while not a great player on the field, has only made news by conducting this poor attempt at homemaking off the field:

Maybe Hill can come in as some sort of informant to tell the powers that be in Detroit what is going down at night in the city. While he wouldn't fit too well in the nightclub scene, I am pretty sure the shirt posted above would be a great conversation starter. Like the guy inside that body has ever thought about using any performance-enhancing drugs.

Now this makes a bit more sense. All Mr. Harrison has to do is have a television monitor of his hit on Colt McCoy directly above the entrance sign, and he has a perfectly fine new profession.

Just imagine the former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker all decked out in some type of leather vest and shades as you enter a club ready to party it up for the night. I am pretty darn sure most of us would mind our P's and Q's.

While I fully understand that Harrison, at 6'0" and 242 pounds, might be a little undersized for a bouncer, he more than makes up for it with those guns. OK, not those ones; instead, the ones he uses to literally bash opposing quarterbacks' heads in.

If you have never been to an Oakland Raiders game as a fan of an opposing team, count your blessings and that you still have a full set of teeth. The reputation these fans have gained, dating back to the 1970s, is not overblown. They will intimidate you, throw stuff at you, call out your mothers and even make snide remarks about your children. Heck, one time I saw a Raiders fan make a little girl cry (no lie).

Now imagine you are Wes Welker and must now go into Oakland once a season and do your thing. On the surface, that's bad enough. Now imagine him putting up 10 catches for 150 yards and a score. I don't think fans of the Silver and Black will take to that too well.

Charles Woodson, who could soon be signed by Oakland's cross-bay rivals, is still without a job. He played with the Raiders from 1998 to 2005, helping them to the Super Bowl in 2002. The future Hall of Fame defensive back wouldn't have much of an issue blending in with the home team, which is one of the job duties of a Secret Service agent. Let him dress the part and then protect Welker from the onslaught of hatred that will end up being thrown his way.

Either way, this could end up protecting John Elway's $12 million investment on the former New England Patriots star wide receiver. Elway, who played college ball in Northern California, knows all too well what Raiders fans bring to the table from his days as a quarterback for these very same Denver Broncos.

This could go one of two ways. First, Russell learns from his past mistakes, catches on with an NFL team and improves as a man. Second, he goes back to his old tricks.

Either way, anyone who chastises Tim Tebow for wearing his religion on his sleeve might want to think about other players around the NFL and what they have done when drawing a conclusion about who they want acting as a "guidance counselor" for their children.

At least, Mr. Russell will teach our children to drink grape juice. It's a whole heck of a lot better than all these energy drinks making the rounds in schools these day. Oh, not that purple drink; never mind.

Honestly, how many of you have a fax machine in your house or home office these days? When the news broke that a hiccup in communication between Elvis Dumervil's agent and the Denver Broncos led the star pass-rusher to be released, we all waited for more information to come out.

"Magid (Dumervil's agent) said he received the renegotiated document from the Broncos at 3:45 p.m. ET. He said he had Dumervil wait by a fax machine to receive the copy and then send it back."

I fully understand that there are legality issues with emails and the like, but this is so archaic in terms of technology in the postmodern age that most of us were taken aback by it.

As it is, Dumervil was out a whole bunch of money and without a football team when the deadline passed on Friday because the fax didn't reach Denver's front office in time.

That's a sales pitch right there. If he were to come to my work and give me that sob story, I think a deal would be closed relatively soon.

Shows of Cardiff Town 1-1 Bolton Wanderers: Just out of Bogdan's reach

Bolton Wanderers visited to Cardiff City Stadium to defend myself against the Champions in the thing that was always planning to be described as a crucial conflict for Bolton's play-off desires. It was quite definitely a celebration atmosphere in Cardiff as the Red Dragons were all set to raise a trophy, no matter the match's outcome. Listed here are the fit illustrates for you, if you were not the trip that was made by one of the 1,700 Bolton fans. The Trotters would do their best to ruin the festivities but it was Adam Bogdan who'd do the task in early stages. The goalkeeper made an enormous remain in the game's opening minutes as Jordon Mutch found himself in way too much room. Mike Ricketts was the supplier for the match's opening goal as he broke in to the field from the right side and squared it to Chris Eagles. The winger took the chance first time and concluded extremely well low and to the post. Adam Bogdan will be called into action again in the second half, building a magnificent end on Tommy Smith after diving very nearly the whole thickness of the target. Unfortuitously, just a couple minutes later, Cardiff would equalize. Craig Noone's free stop beat Bogdan at the near post and was the game's final goal. Cardiff City would stress the Trotters for the remainder of the fit and would in the course of time lift the trophy without much trouble. The point held Bolton in the play-off areas. Click the play button in the bottom left-hand corner to look at the targets.

Taking A Look At Eagles Coach Chip Kellyas First NFL Draft

By Joe Sageman a' Eagles Gab 1st round: OT Lane Johnson a The Eagles solidified their offensive line by using Lane Johnson, a very running handle who is able to play on either the proper or left side. Heas not used to the positioning and is just scratching the surface of his potential, but is higher than a project. He was one of many more remarkable people at the Senior Bowl and must win the proper tackle career. A beginning bad type of Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, Todd Herremans, and Lane Johnson is one Eagles supporters should really be excited about. They could be the key to success for Chip Kelly, who utilizes the running game. Grade: B+ Second round: TE Zach Ertz a' Chip Kelly enjoys athletic small ends since they force defenses to select whether to stay in their foundation defensive offer or place a supplementary defensive back on the field. After Ertz carved up his Oregon Ducks last year, many collaborators thought that Ertz was the top small end on the Eaglesa board. The Eagles certainly have greater requirements than another skill position player, but Chip Kelly decided he'd to have another tool at his disposal. Ertz has a major figure, soft arms, and glow as a path athlete. He can line up being an inline tight end or as a fold player in the slot or out wide. With Brent Celek and James Casey equally locked up long-term, itas hard to work who the odd man out is. Nowadays there are way too many mouths to feed at tight stop, and Chip Kelly canat justify spending them all so highly or committing such high draft picks in the career. Grade: C 3rd round: DE Bennie Logan a The Eagles needed defensive aid in this draft, and although they waited until the third round to have it, Bennie Logan should lead instantly. Entering draft week-end, the Eagles were paper thin across the defensive line, and Logan may make a healthier snap count in his rookie year. He was a reason why the LSU defensive line was so dominant throughout the last few months because he represents the function well. He suits nicely as a defensive end because he loves to bunch and shed blockers significantly more than he looks to enter and get up the field. UFC 159: What's Next for Jon Johnson After Whipping Chael Sonnen?

NEWARK, N.J. a' Jon Jones beat Chael Sonnen as expected in the main function of UFC 159. What's next for the light heavyweight champion? That is the question as I report live from the Prudential Center shortly after the finish of the top level I try to answer. It is not a straightforward answer, either; Jones will be out for some time now with a compound foot fracture, and there is no telling who'll earn a title shot in the meantime. But I think I've got an idea of who should challenge Jones next. You will have to watch the movie to find out, though. Read the video above, and let me know very well what you think in the remarks below.

Mark Ross Program To Be Converted Into A Cemetery

The old New Rogell tennis coursea'designed by the legendary Donald Rossa'has been offered and the new owners plan to change it in to a cemetery. The program originally was developed underneath the authority of Max Fisher for Detroitas Jewish community, who were excluded from membership in other country groups. The original structure for the very first nine holes was completed by Tom Bendelow. Since the Phoenix Golf Club it opened in 1914. Phoenix Golf Club was sold to the town of Redford in 1921, having never quite caught on as a Jewish team. It was maybe not positioned close enough to the Detroit areaas Jewish communities. Redford employed Donald Ross to upgrade the first nine and complete the design. The Redford Golf and Country Club survived until 1945, when it was sold to the City of Detroit. In 1979, the course was renamed the Rogell, after former Tigers ballplayer and town councillor Bill Rogell. Rogell, a shortstop had led the Tigers to a 1935 World Seriew win on the Chicago Cubs. As it suffered considerably from neglect, it was by all accounts not a happy period for the program. When it had been purchased for $2.7 million by the mega-church Greater Grace Temple, a glimmer of hope for the Ross class appeared in 2007. Higher Grace put money in to repair and renamed it aNew Rogell.a The church has abandoned the concept, nevertheless and the Ross design seems headed for bulldozering. The program is planned to close May 31. It'd be considered a real pity because of this to go. I wonder if thereas a way that it might be selected as an old site to protect it.

Holden's TELEVISION meeting part two: the mortgage & the comeback

Recently, we shared the first element of Stu Holden's interview with Fox Soccer Channel where he detailed the Jonny Evans injury and the challenges that he challenged in the recovery process. Stuart's girlfriend, Karalyn West, and brother, Euan, were also readily available to share what it absolutely was like from the sidelines. If you've the time we encourage you to go back and view (or read) the interview. Earlier in the day currently, Fox Soccer Channel published the second component and conclusion of the meeting. The four-minute-long segment was, on the whole, much lighter than the first part whilst the Holden friends and Karalyn discussed Stu's comeback and the midfielder's future. "I thought to him, even though I had a game on the same time as his first game back that because I know how much he had been through" I'd pretend illness just to go and watch him play just. That's what Euan Holden told his brother while the bid for a full exercise reunite went on for Stu. "I think it is gone a lot better than I'd likely to be honest. I felt fitter every game, I felt stronger, I felt clearer and every time that you move on the subject, you're feeling more comfortable, in more of a things and rhythm begin to return to you," Stu said, describing his return. " You can get on the ball and you stop worrying then about your leg. It's more about how you are playing and that is why I think it's been an important success." When asked about how exactly the mortgage to Sheffield Wednesday happened, Holden replied: "I had several talks with the manager and we both kind of decided that it'd be best for game time to be got by me. "Sheffield Wednesday when we made a few calls, they certainly were right set for my whole mortgage. "It did not charge Sheffield Wednesday hardly any money for them therefore because sense, it absolutely was sort of a win-win for everybody around to get me on board. I had get games and head out and get fitter and get stronger and then manage to return to Bolton and play a far more vital part in the group. "My first game I was placed in a nearby derby against Barnsley in front of 30,000 supporters and I played in the Yorkshire Derby against Leeds in front of 25-26,000. Most of these activities mean therefore much because they are in a relegation battle, primarily. I do not think I had own it every other way." When asked how far Stu can get, Euan responded: "I get asked this question a bit and my honest response is I think he will be straight back better than he was before. "Now that he is playing, the very best sign for me personally was after his first game was he said 'I am exhausted. I didn't think about my knee once the entire game, I was knackered. I was breathing hard and in the overall game .' The actual fact that he had not seriously considered his knee or that he felt his knee was painful, that he felt his knee, was the most effective indication for me." Stu went on to discuss his contact with Jurgen Klinsmann and the potential of a Men's National Team reunite, an interest we included in length here. When all was said and done, Stu Holden sounded exceedingly positive and positive of playing a large part in Bolton's play-off press.

Ian Bunting Commits to Michigan: Wolverines Land Massive 4-Star TE

The Michigan Wolverines have received the determination of 4-star small conclusion Ian Bunting out ofAHinsdale, IL. Bunting is a big limited end determination for the Wolverines, and he's great potential. Bunting has good size for a tight stop at 6'6'', 210 pounds, and he is ranked since the No. 11 limited result in the 2014 school, based on the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Allen Trieu of scout.com reports on the determination (h/t Kyle Meinke of mlive.com on Twitter ): Hinsdale Central'sAIan BuntingAvisited Michigan this week-end and after having a couple of days to consider his choice, concluded his recruiting today with a consignment to Michigan over offers from schools like Notre Dame, Ohio State, Mississippi, USC, Oregon and more. "When I went there and visited and got to spend lots of time with the coaches, people on the team and surely got to spend the evening with them. It felt like home. It felt such as the right place for me personally. My parents came with me and they both liked it and the instructors were so good and inviting and it really had a good sense of family there which is certainly one of my personal favorite parts about game of baseball is brotherhood and the connection with the teammates and can certainly sense that it was there. Not only with the kids, but coaches also. I acquired to meet most of the coaches' people and it was the ideal place for me." Brady Hoke's 2014 type today features seven obligations, and the Wolverines are undeniably off to some other warm begin the recruiting trail, especially offensively. This is important considering Michigan's desire to fully move to the pro-style crime. The tight end position is important in the pro, both from the blocking and receiving standpoint, therefore Bunting is really an important responsibility for Hoke and his team to hang on to. He's the size to remain home and stop, but he also projects to be always a good receiving tight end. Actually, he reminds me a little of sophomore small end Devin Funchess for the reason that regard. Bunting runs with long strides, he's above average speed and quick feet. He has the capacity to run clean routes and he can be effective between the joints if not nearby the sideline on vertical routes. He features good arms, good athleticism and good length for a tight end. He joins a class that currently features 4-star wide receiver Drake Harris, so the aerial future of Michigan's crime appears to be in able hands for the full time being.

Jets Pick Geno Smith, Are Now Actually Infested With Quarterbacks

They took warmth for playing Mark Sanchez. They took heat for not playing Tim Tebow. So now Rex Ryan is going to correct the Jetsa quarterback issue in simple fashion: heas going to throw dozens of them contrary to the wall and see if one stays. Actually Ryan only has six quarterbacks on the list at this time. But thatas still a great deal. Nyc selected Geno Smith today with the 39th pick in the next round of the NFL Draft, and their QB level chart now looks something such as this: Mark Sanchez David Garrard Bernard Tebow Greg McElroy Matt Simms Geno Smith Assume Smith to go up considerably when he steps onto the practice field. Assume Sanchez, who'll make this season to $8.25 million (or $82.5 million, according to USA Today) to function as the opening-week beginner, because the salary cap is ruined by him who, extends to start. Usually, itas the Hunger Games at Jets camp. What we are able to say pretty much for sure is that this is the conclusion of Tebowmania, at least in the U.S. Smithas quote to ESPN after being chosen: aI need certainly to thank God for this.a Donat you mean, ablamea? Matt Barkley Could Quickly Push For Beginner Job; Nick Foles Might Get Exchanged

The NFL world is in distress, as one of the least mobile QBs in this yearas draft, USC QB Matt Barkley, was only picked by the Philadelphia Eagles. Selecting1st in the 4th round and 98th overall, the Eagles dealt up with the Jacksonville Jaguars, sending them a 7th body along the way. Barkley is a intelligent QB who are able to make corrections at the type of scrimmage and control the huddle, driving the speed in an up-tempo spread offense. Yet, it seems odd for head mentor Chip Kelly a' who also enjoys maintaining defenses guessing as to if the QB will probably run with it a' to take a thrower as statuesque as Matt Barkley. Processor Kelly has been acclimating his offense to the speed necessary to work his offense, shaping diet and training so they really could possibly get used to not huddling and to the additional plays. In because the most pro-ready QB in this yearas draft my rankings, Barkley was right behind Ryan Nassib. Michael Vick becomes 33 come july 1st, and hasn't played all 16 games in a normal season since 2006. I possibly could see Barkley sitting this season, and getting a chance to win the task in 2014. A two-QB program is really a remote possibility. Michael Vick is the strongest-armed and most experienced QB on the roster and I believe is established as the #1. Should there be described as a large amount of zone-read, sense would be made by it to keep QB Dennis Dixon on the roster and not need to place that part of the playbook out if Vick gets hurt again. That will keep QB Nick Foles, a 3rd-round select from 2012, because the odd man out. I could see whatever group that wants Nassib in this round but doesnat get him to trade for him, as Foles has greater arm ability than his previous teammate Matt Scott, Landry Jones, and the rest of the utmost effective leads left. The Eagles also shocked some by taking another active TE in Stanfordas Zach Ertz, because they curently have Brent Celek and James Casey. WWE News: Surgery Update for The Rock

Well, for those of you who have been ignorant, The Rock went beneath the knife Tuesday morning. The surgery was due to accidents he suffered throughout his WrestleMania 29 match against John Cena. Originally "The Great One" be following through with his upcoming movie production plan and would said that he would perhaps not be finding surgery. Nevertheless, that all improved on Sunday, when he placed on Twitter that surgery was necessary. The good news is that his surgery was a success. In fact afternoon was taken to Twitter on Tuesday by him to show a post-surgery image. Over all, I got to say that The Rock appears to be in great shape and ready for to start out shooting. However, he will clearly need certainly to take some time to heal from this surgery before he may start capturing any scenesa'especially real ones. Now that the surgery is behind him, one has to wonder where he stands with the WWE and if he'll be time for the band once his Hollywood plan opens up. Truth be told The Rock has undoubtedly given fans significantly more than many anticipated over the past 3 years. That being said, I do believe it's safe to state that when he decided to disappear, nobody would fault him. Let us face it; he is in the primary of his film-making career and for him to keep to test and balance both it would be outrageous. Especially considering that potential accidents that might conflict with video shows or WWE pay-per-view commitments. All in all, if the WWE really wants to retain The Rock, they should signal him to a "Legends" package and have him do looks at their "Big Four" pay-per-view events. This could be beneficial for both parties and give some slack to him from having an in-ring presence. But, once we all know the planet of wrestling can be an unusual one. So who knows what the future has available for The Rock and the WWE?

Real Madrid claim spoils over Atletico - FOXSports.com

UpdatedAApr 27, 2013 5:33 PM ET Real Madrid's 2-1 get over Atletico Madrid kept it unbeaten against Atletico in 25 straight games dating to 1999 and managed its psychological advantage over its crosstown rival planning to their battle in the Copa del Rey final on May possibly 17. Jose Mourinho's reduced side produced an uninspiring performance and fought for large parts of the overall game, nevertheless they made the absolute most of their chances. Radamel Falcao offered the hosts an earlier lead but an goal by Juanfran levelled things up a few minutes later, and Angel Di Maria hit the winning goal midway through the second half. The effect considers Real cut the hole on leaders Barcelona - used to a 2-2 sketch by Athletic Bilbao - to 11 points with five activities outstanding, while they are now six points away from Atletico in the battle for 2nd place. The overall game kicked off to a crazy atmosphere within the Calderon. Atletico fans had waited 14 years to beat their neighbours and knew it was their best chance, with Real expected to relax several key players before Champions League semi-final second knee Borussia Dortmund in a few days. Mourinho did needlessly to say, fielding only three people - Diego Lopez, Sami Khedira and Pepe - that started in Dortmund. Atleti's only essential absentee was Arda Turan and they made the big difference in workers depend early on, applying sustained pressure right away. These were given a 30 yards out after three minutes. Gabi went for goal and caught out Lopez, who could only side his shot out to the ball is put by Diego Godin, who right back across goal and home was headed by Falcao from inside the six-yard box. The pressure was kept up by atleti and a shot was fired by Koke on the bar from range. Real had little reaction but equalised out of nothing on 12 minutes. Di Maria won a free-kick in a similar area to the one Atleti obtained from and went for goal, the ball tacking a off Juanfran's hip, which sent it beyond the dependent Thibaut Courtois. The life was sucked by the goal out of Atleti. They just produced two more chances in the half, Falcao going well on the bar, and then Diego Costa skewing well wide of target. At one other end, Alvaro Morata shot well wide from the difficult angle and Courtois came racing out of purpose to reject Karim Benzema, who had been performed in by di Maria. Atletico arrived the far stronger team in the 2nd half and mounted pressure on the Real purpose from the off. Raul Garcia struck the bar just after the re-start, while Gabi spent a great possiblity to recover the cause when he burst through the support but grazed his shot wide. A moment later Garcia sent an attempt just large of the post, before Falcao appealed for a punishment in vain following a challenge by Michael Essien. Real had rarely done something in the 2nd period around this aspect, but they obtained, when they launched their first attack. Benzema discovered di Maria in place down the left side and the Argentinian cut inside before shooting in to the bottom far corner, beyond the reach of Courtois. The home fans were shocked and Atletico had little result. Their just future opportunity was an attempt from Filipe Luis from a tight position that went just vast, while Benzema and Morata equally missed chances for Real. Everton 1 Fulham 0 fit report: Steven Pienaar goal ends Everton closer to... - The Independent

With these garish orange shoes showing off sunshine, Dimitar Berbatov clutched at his leg and left the overall game. No true point in seeing this one out. And with that, on the 30th second, Fulham's likelihood of finding anything at their most horrible of away grounds vanished. The subplots that comprise success and failure in basketball a' the subject rise, the search for a location inside the top four, the tussle to avoid relegation; well none of them were can be found at Goodison Park. Everton have had a good period without ending their visit a trophy under David Moyes. Fulham, meanwhile, had previously hit the 40-point mark and seemingly safe from the decline, there was no determination to do with any number of intensity. The preconditions suggested this would definitely be no match of the day. And it showed. Fulham had not won a group installation within their entire record at Everton. With nothing seriously at risk, that questionable figure was unlikely to change as soon as Steven Pienaar grabbed the host's in to a 16th minute cause following some rapid and elaborate five-a-side soccer down Everton's right side. Perhaps the most significant discovery from the afternoon set deep in Moyes's program notes. Four sentences in, he references the long run a' seemingly one used with Everton. "The purpose now for myself and the club is to continue steadily to moving the staff forward," he wrote enthusiastically and to build on which we've already reached. Moyes did not make himself. But he's obviously contemplating what happens next at a club he has managed across 12 months. A short while later, Moyes joked about celebrating his 50th birthday party however you like. "It will be a wild rave," he commented, notably uncharacteristically. Moyes was much more serious, though, about reaching a on his future at the end of the campaign. "When you've been [somewhere] 11 years, you'd hope that you'll get the respect and enough time to produce a decision." An indication of Moyes's current thinking is displayed in his staff selections. Because it was announced in 2013 could be Phil Neville's last at Everton, he's maybe not appeared in a shirt and Phil Jagielka has already been mounted as his replacement as team leader. Neville wasn't even in the squad against Fulham. Many of Moyes's most reliable people are equally on the age of 30 and Moyes appreciates that gradually, his squad will need reshaping. Perhaps this is the start of that program. Moyes also still believes there's at least a remote chance of European qualification. "We'll continue and see what happens," he said. "We'll probably need certainly to win every game but we've crushed last year's total with the points today and hopefully that shows an indication of improvement. If we do enter Europe, we'll certainly have acquired it as the sides above us [currently] are typical really good sides." Regardless, for the second campaign in sequence, it is likely that Everton will finish it above Liverpool. Moyes will not level is own team's achievements by the performance of these Merseyside opponents. Up to Everton have improved in recent years, Liverpool have degenerated. Most importantly for Moyes, he feels that this Everton staff is the most acceptable he's had since marking his arrival at Goodison Park with a success, which ironically came against Fulham on a sunny spring afternoon more than a decade before. Everton didn't need to show any amount of regular company to secure the details in this fitting. Yet it always felt comfortable. Fulham's defenders could not cope with the pace and movement of Kevin Mirallas, Leon Osman and Seamus Coleman for the operator. "It was a good footballing goal," Moyes said. "It was earned because we produced enough similar opportunities." These opportunities dropped to Mirallas and replacement Ross Barkley, who might have secured the result early in the day only for Mark Schwarzer to hand absent on both occasions. Martin Jol, the Fulham director, later refuted suggestions he is about to change the Australian goalkeeper in the summer by recruiting Roma's Martin Stekelenburg. "As long as Mark is fit, we'd want to keep him," Jol said. Everton (4-4-2 ): Howard; Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Mirallas, Fellaini, Osman, Pienaar; Jelavic (Barkley 67), Anichebe. Fulham (4-4-2 ): Schwarzer; Manolev, Senderos, Hangeland, Richardson (Duff 56 ); Emanuelson, Enoh, Karagounis (Rodallega 77), Kacaniklic; Berbatov (Petric 30), Ruiz. Atletico Madrid vs. True Madrid, El Derbi madrileAo: Final rating 1-2, Yet... - SB Nation

Their dominance was continued by real Madrid over Atletico Madrid as Los Colchoneros have now didn't be their town rivals in 25 league matches, spanning very nearly 14 years. Going into the 152nd El Derbi madrileAo issues appeared startup for Atletico Madrid to finally break their near 14 year winless streak against Real Madrid. With Los Merengues resting several starters and Atletico with a not exactly first selection choice, this will have already been the day for Atletico to shine. Alternatively Real Madrid came back from an early deficit for a 2-1 win. Radamel Falcao got Atletico Madrid off to a wonderful start going in a corner in the 4th moment and staking Atletico to an earlier 1-0 lead. Koke"s free end from 25-yards was saved by Diego Lopez but the owner not able to get a grip on the recovery and Diego GodAn was in the right spot, delivering the ball back across to Falcao at the far post for the headed end. The target was Falcao's 50th in Manhunter Liga. The Vicente CalderAn went bananas however the happiness lasted only twenty minutes as Real Madrid equalized thanks to an objective by Francisco Juanfran. Angel Di Maria's free kick started the trouble, deflecting off one player towards the top of the box before getting a deflection off Juanfran facing his goalkeeper, changing the flight of the ball enough to deliver it past a diving Thibaut Courtois. One Real Madrid advocate had an appealing party after the goal: The 2 objectives settled down the busy early pace but rather of free flowing play we got plenty of fouls and an ever more edgy atmosphere while the referee seriously tried to keep things under control by passing out orange cards just like the ice cream man providing out popsicles on a hot day. Courtois made a massive save your self just before the break after Di Maria discovered Karim Benzema alone in space on the proper side. The French striker fought to gain get a handle on of the ball providing the Atletico owner time to make and recover a sliding tackle to break-up the force. Atletico dominated the opening 18 minutes of the next half with Real Madrid having virtually no control. So needless to say in the minute, seemingly from nowhere, Di Maria snuck him behind the safety running onto a move from Benzema and beat the visitors to be put by Courtois forward 2-1. While the minutes ticked away Atletico became more and more disappointed and less and less able to mount a consistent attack. The inclusion of Xabi Alonso by Jose Mourinho helped subside the Madrid midfield and enhanced their ownership greatly.
