The southern area of 500 2013 Results: Reaction, Leaders and Post-Race Test.

Matt Kenseth came on missed to win the 2013 Bojangles The southern area of 500. He overcame teammate Kyle Busch by means of just 12 laps to venture to grab the win.

The race was cleanup until the 300th clapboard, but anyone who made comments about the void of caution flags likely jinxed a race.

Kyle seemingly had this town wrapped up until his handling seemed to fail him late. Kenseth had been there to pounce, and he gutted out a hardcore win.

Kurt Busch got off for a great start. He was for the blistering place at Clapboard 50. He led the pack for your race up to this point with a slight advantage over his brother Kyle.

Kurt continued to master the pace early at. Kyle stayed in stunning distance, but he couldn't eclipse his older brother in the first 73 laps.

On Lap 74, Kyle passed Kurt to move into the top spot. Perhaps he was basically biding his time, but he overcame a superb gap after the first pit stop taking the lead.

Kenseth was among the list of drivers I expected to be a major factor here. He took the No. 20 car into second place, but Kyle maintained his lead following second set of pit stops through 100 laps.

Subsequent to an immaculately run competition, the first caution flag appeared on the 125th lap due to debris relating to the track. It didn't disturb Kyle in any way; he continued to point the pack.

Kurt had fallen spine significantly after firing away at the beginning from the pole position. But it appeared a good Busch would still acquire the win in Darlington.

Rob Gordon, the man with his 700th NASCAR run, briefly took the lead with the 200th lap. He pitted a several laps earlier than the majority of the drivers, but by your 202nd lap, Kyle have regained the lead.

As the race acknowledged the 300-lap mark, a Sprint Cup standings tops Jimmie Johnson had traveled into second place. The defending champion was sure to become heard from before this race was done, together with though Kyle maintained your partner's lead, Johnson was trying to apply some pressure.

Challengers continued taking their shot at wresting the lead from Kyle, but couldn't apply it through 400 laps. He turned back Kasey Kahne, Johnson and Kenseth—for the instant.

It seemed fuel conservation would become a major concern, but handling is what cost Kyle this particular race. In the last 50 laps, the Certainly no. 18 car just didn't perform.

Kenseth ultimately passed Kyle using just 12 laps to go. It was all alpine for the latter when this occurs. Kenseth deserves credit with regard to his perseverance, but owes some adore to Kyle's car.

Kyle will lose some sleep across this sixth-place finish. It seemed he would coast to a win, and it has to become frustrating when the car simply won't help you to win.

Kenseth's second win within the season is a large step toward making him a major player in the Race Cup standings for other season. We may look back only at that race later in 12 months as the turning issue for Kenseth.
