5 Most Intense Moments within the Cardinals-Cubs Rivalry.

Inside 1984, the Cubs might make an underdog NLCS overall look. And one of the defining moments of their season came in a game title with the Cardinals, surely.

Chicago trailed 9-8 with the ninth when Ryne Sandberg stepped around face the dominant more detailed, Bruce Sutter. Sandberg homered to help you left field, displaying his power for among the list of first times. But the Cards satisfied with two runs in the the top of tenth.

Later that inning, the game saw fit to rematch Sutter and Sandberg, and again, Sandberg was victorious releasing his second home run within the game.

The Cubs could take the game in the unsuspecting Cardinals, showcasing the talent that would hook them up to top for one year in an era that had now seen some Redbird results. And any game that earned specific to it nickname must have stuck with fans for quite a while.
