5 Most Intense Moments with the Cardinals-Cubs Rivalry.

Around 1984, the Cubs would probably make an underdog NLCS appearance. And one of the defining moments of their total season came in a game title with the Cardinals, needless to say.

Chicago trailed 9-8 within the ninth when Ryne Sandberg stepped around face the dominant better, Bruce Sutter. Sandberg homered so that you can left field, displaying his power for among the list of first times. But the Cards solved with two runs in the the top tenth.

Later that inning, golf saw fit to rematch Sutter in addition to Sandberg, and again, Sandberg was victorious lifting his second home run of the game.

The Cubs were able to take the game in the unsuspecting Cardinals, showcasing the talent that would wear them top for one year within the era that had presently seen some Redbird financial success. And any game that earned specific to it nickname must have stuck with fans for quite a while.
