Ancient Michigan Tennis Business Destroyed By Fire

A Michigan generator that has maufactured wood tennis rakes and wood flag stays since the 1870s was destroyed the 2009 Thursday (March 28, 2013) by fire. Cheesebrough Corporation, in Freeport, Michigan was the oldest manufacturing unit in the state. A description of the organization from their website: Cheesebrough has been shipping tough outside things around the globe in the last three decades, at once by the boxcar and now in much smaller boxes of cardboard. Though a reeda of our former selves, we appreciate using our artistic bent within our art, in hope we will add beauty and pleasure to our lives and yours.A Each of our few customers is very important to us and the continuing operation of this previous American company.A If we, or something we create, gives purpose to disappoint you, please call and allow us to ensure it is right. Unlike the standard tennis market companies that compete in providing aprice pointa products manufactured in far away places, we're a relic of the days when American craftsmanship and quality was the jealousy of the nations.A We run much the same today as when the work started in the early 1860as, using simple models to arough ina the fundamental designs of our products, and handwork for closing shaping and finishing. It is a somewhat tedious system by contemporary standards, and fewer seem prepared to live under its quality demands.A It does allow us to supply services and products that can be named crafted maybe not manufactured, and that by American craftsmen. Iam very nearly certain that Iave seen their products and services at Treetopsa Tradition in Gaylord. I was satisfied with them at the time and you will see several photographs here. More on the fire here.
