Newcastle United did not manage to finish the 2012/13 Premier League in the fashion they would have liked - succumbing 1-0 at home to Arsenal.
But regardless, they achieved their goal of securing top-flight football for next season and now have the summer to rebuild and regroup.
The game at St James' Park was particularly poignant for goalkeeper Steve Harper who played - and captained - his final game for the club after 20 years of exceptional service.
